Cast of Characters

The Florist: The owner of a flower shop called Heavenly Flowers.

Bob or Pam: A person shopping for flowers.

Narrator: Symbolically, the Voice of God.

Scene

Inside the flower shop called Heavenly Flowers.

Time

The present.

Act I

SETTING: Inside Heavenly Flowers, a florist’s shop. There is a bell that jingles whenever someone opens the door.

AT RISE: THE FLORIST is straightening a display. As the scene opens, there is no one in the shop but THE FLORIST.

(lights up)

(door jingles, BOB enters)

(THE FLORIST looks toward the door)

THE FLORIST

(smiling)

Hello! Welcome to Heavenly Flowers. How can I help you?

BOB

I’m here to order some flowers for a wedding.

THE FLORIST

Well, you’ve come to the right place! Are you the lucky groom?
