Whether you’re starting your career or were recently laid off, you can get a job in Cybersecurity once you learn to hack the job-finding system.
There’s no shortage of need. In fact, with so many people working from home, the workload for the security team is bigger than ever. That’s a wonderful opportunity, because it means a lot of entry-level jobs are opening up. For the next few months, you can get a Cybersecurity job without ten years of experience. I’ll show you how by sharing some recent correspondence I had with someone who, like you, is looking for that way to get their foot in the door.
I’m communicating with a college student on LinkedIn. We’ll call her Elena (not her real name). She asked me this question.
Hi Bob,
I’m a student at ___________ University, working on my MS in Cybersecurity. I’m looking for jobs right now. With no real industry experience I find the process for job hunting very stressful and frustrating. I’m three months away from graduating. Can you please help me with a word of advice? How to gain experience in the field and to land a decent job?
This is what I wrote in reply:
Elena,
It’s nice to hear from you; thank you for writing.
