Member-only story
This morning I woke up and shuffled out of the bedroom. Our cat, Sapphire, was waiting for me in the upstairs hall. This is what happened next…
Sapphire: “You need to feed me.”
Me: “You tell me that every morning.”
Sapphire: “Well, every morning it’s true.”
Me: “I’m coming, I’m coming.”
We went downstairs, more or less together. When we got to the kitchen, Sapphire went to her food dish, and I went to the coffee maker.
Sapphire: “Hey. You need to feed me.”
Me: “You know I never feed you until after I start the coffee.”
Sapphire: “Well, this morning it’s urgent.”
I finished setting up the coffee and walked over to her.
Me: “You’ve still got kibbles in there from yesterday! I’ll change your water, but I’m not giving you any more kibbles until you finish what you’ve got.”
Sapphire: “I’m NOT eating those kibbles.”
I picked up her water dish and headed to the sink.
Me: “What’s wrong with them? Are they covered in cat spit or something?”
Sapphire: “You didn’t really look at those kibbles, did you? If you actually looked, you’d know what’s wrong with them.”
