I would like to purchase Fox News. How much will you sell it to me for?
You see, I understand that you’re in a precarious position right now. After Trump lost the US election, his political allies are all pivoting in order to save their careers. Your viewership is about to drop precipitously. Companies that used to advertise on Fox News will reduce their advertising, or stop advertising entirely, on your collapsing station.
You have two obvious options.
One option is to completely re-brand Fox News. You could switch to a more centrist editorial policy in the hopes of maintaining, or rebuilding, your viewer base and the advertisers who want to reach them. But this option will be personally embarrassing for you, and there are no guarantees that it will be a successful rescue operation. Your current pro-Trump news force and the program stars like Sean Hannity would be publicly humiliated for changing their narrative. You’d probably need to replace them.
Your other option — the one I’m writing to you about — is to sell Fox News to me. So — how much?
